Privacy statement

CarXray.nl is a website of JRK Digital Media B.V., Johan de Wittlaan 7, 2517 JR The Hague (Chamber of Commerce 98096591). We are responsible for the processing of personal data on this website.

No account, no owner data

You do not need an account. We only show vehicle data from RDW Open Data, never data about the owner of a car.

Plate check

When you enter a number plate, your browser requests the data directly from RDW Open Data (opendata.rdw.nl); like any website, the RDW sees your IP address. In the address of the result page the plate comes after the # sign. Browsers never send that part of an address to a server, so the plate does not reach us or our hosting provider and we do not store it.

Checklist and notes

What you tick and note in the checklist is stored only on your own device (localStorage). You can erase it by clearing this website's data in your browser.

Statistics and cookies (only with your consent)

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to see how the website is used: which pages are visited, how often the plate check and the comparison are used, the type of device and which website you came from. Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) for this. Without consent we do not load Google Analytics and set no cookies. Legal basis: your consent; you can withdraw it at any time via ‘Cookie settings’ at the bottom of every page.

We configured Google Analytics in a privacy-friendly way: no advertising features and no Google signals, Google Analytics does not store IP addresses, and the plate from the plate check is never sent. User-level data is deleted after 2 months. Google Ireland Ltd. acts as our processor; data may be processed in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses.

Your choice (allow or refuse) is stored on your own device (localStorage), so we do not ask again on every visit. After 12 months we ask again.

Hosting and log files

The website is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting (Google). On every visit Google processes technical data, such as your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser type, to deliver the page and secure the service. Google acts as our processor; data may also be processed outside the European Economic Area, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We have not switched on any extra logging ourselves. Fonts and images come from our own site, not from third parties.
